John
Mailey, Associate Pastor
Minister
of Education & Administration
My Life Scripture: 1 Peter 3:15 “….always be ready to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that is in
you,… with
gentleness and respect.”
Life
Application: I’m a sold-out, born
again believer of Jesus Christ (John 3:16). I
live my life as a child of God, believing God’s Word is the
truth, the
whole truth and nothing but the truth (John 8:34-36). I believe that
salvation
is a gift given to all who believe in God’s only Son, Jesus
Christ, as their
Savior and Lord. (Romans 6:23) As a
Christian, my life should demonstrate the hope and love I have for my
Savior
(Romans 5:5), because I’ve read God’s Word, experience the
nature of His Spirit
in me (John 14:15-17) and I know with confidence, that no matter how
bad things
look in life, I should not worry (Philippians 4:6), because I know the
end of
the story…. Jesus is “Victorious.”
Life,
Salvation and Calling: I was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and raised
to have a passionate love
for the Green Bay Packers. I joined the
U.S. Army in April 1972 and served for 22 years before retiring in May
1994. I married my beautiful wife,
Patricia in June 1978 and was saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, in my
living
room in August 1978, while stationed in Colorado. I
was ordained as a deacon in November 1987,
while serving at First Baptist Church, in Copperas Cove, Texas. In November 1991, when I was stationed in the
Netherlands, God called me into the ministry to preach the Gospel of
Jesus
Christ, during an Experiencing God weekend in my church.
I was called to be the Youth Minister at
Robertson Avenue Baptist Church in April 1994. I
was licensed as a Gospel Minister in October 1995, and ordained in
April 1997, by Robertson Avenue Baptist
Church. I graduated from the University
of Mary Hardin Baylor in December 1999. I
served as the Youth Minister for over seven years, before God showed
me though His movement, that education and administration was where I
was to
serve Him in the church. I have been at
Robertson Avenue Baptist Church for over fifteen years.
Hobbies
and Activities: Photography, collecting stamps and golf balls. I love playing golf, but would rather spend
time with my wife, children and grandchildren.
